About Kaziranga National Park
Kaziranga National Park, a jewel of northeastern India, spans 42,996 hectares in Assam. As a critical component of the Brahmaputra Valley floodplain, the park showcases dynamic riverine and fluvial processes shaped by the Brahmaputra River. Its diverse landscape comprises vast wet alluvial tall grasslands, shallow pools fringed with reeds, and patches of deciduous to semi-evergreen woodlands, fostering a rich and varied habitat.
The park is divided into four distinct ranges:
- Eastern or Agaratoli Range
- Central or Kohora Range
- Western or Bagori Range
- Burhapahar Range
Each range possesses unique characteristics that contribute to the overall ecological diversity of Kaziranga.
Globally acclaimed as one of the finest wildlife sanctuaries, Kaziranga plays a pivotal role in the conservation of the Indian one-horned rhinoceros. Once teetering on the brink of extinction, this species now flourishes here, with the park hosting the largest population worldwide. Kaziranga National Park - FAQ'S

Park is normally open for tourists from October to May deepening on weather conditions. Please call us before booking if you are in doubt.
Elephant Safari ( For Indian Nationals)
Elephant Safari : INR 1400 per person inclusive of entry , Kaziranga welfare society fees ,taxes and service charges. Duration 1 Hour. It will be in western range or central range as per availability.
Timings: Either 5 or 6 or 7 am as per availability and Park Management decision.
Timing of the safari and slot will be allotted by Park Management and will be informed by 9PM the previous night. Elephant seats are subject to availability.
Pick up and drop for Elephant riding point: INR 1200 for one vehicle.

Timings: Morning entry time 7.30 am to 9.30 am and afternoon entry time 1.30 to 2.45 pm. Duration 2 hours Approx.
Safari rates may change as per government notification and you will have to pay the differences if any.
You require atelast two full days to explore the Kaziranga National Park – one day for Jeep Safari and second day for Elephant Safari and local visit to tea garden or Biodiversity park
There are nearly 2600+ Rhinos are in the park and sighting is guaranteed. The park also has the highest density of Tiger Population in the country.
Both are feasible option to explore the true wilderness of the Kaziranga National Park. Elephant safari gives you an opportunity to see rhinos upclose. During a Jeep Safari, you will encounter variety of animals and birds.
Guwahati to Kaziranga National Park distance is 218 kilometer and takes around 3.5-4 hours
Shillong to Kaziranga National Park distance is 280 kilometers and takes around 5-6 hours by car.
