Activities and Things to do in Kaziranga National Park
The Kaziranga Nationa Park is divided into four zones or ranges namely Eastern Range/Agaratoli , Central Range/Kohora, Western Range/ Bagori and Burhapahar Range. Jeep Safari is organized for all ranges.
Elephant Safari is conducted in two batches in the early morning in Kohora and Bagori ranges. There is always a limited number of seats available. Location for Domestic tourists is Bagori and for International tourists it is Kohora.
The park has the highest number of orchids in India and has bamboo and herbal medicine park. Cultural activities are organized throughout the day but the cultural show in the evening which starts at 6:30 displaying the folk and tribal dance and music of different ethnic tribes of Assam steals the limelight.
Here guests are given a tour of the Tea Factory where guests get a spot on idea of how it reaches from garden to out cups along with how different varieties of teas are manufactured. There are limited slots available and booking needs to be done in advance.
Muga the golden fiber is only produced in Assam. Here in a village household you get see and learn the process of weaving Assamese traditional attires the traditional way.
Cycles are available for rental to enjoy the surroundings in a leisurely way. There are different routes which are available for the same.
Treks are arranged for trekking enthusiasts, a half day long activity and takes you to the Karbi hills overlooking the Kaziranga National Park.
Dating back to 900 AD this Archaeological ruin displays ancient relics, monuments and Shiva temples along with ancient sculptures, coins, temples. Definitely will amaze the visitors and leave them wondering.
River Brahaputra is famous for its endangered river dolphins and same can be witnessed in a short river cruise. Booking needs to be done prior.
Located 32 kms from Kaziranga this is very beautiful waterfall and a favorite among the locals.
